Almighty and eternal God,
from whose love in Christ we cannot be parted,
either by death or life:

hear our prayers and thanksgivings
for all whom we remember this day;
fulfil in them the purpose of your love;
and bring us all, with them, to your eternal joy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

Mr. Godwin Hampton; 1951 – 2016

One of the founding peaple of Malta Command World War 2 Living History Group, Godwin was a rich source of military history information and expert when it comes to technical related stuff. Godwin portrayed the role of Seargent in the group (a.k.a ‘Sarge’) mainly due to his vast experience in the military, having served in Kings Own Malta Regiment Territorials and later in the Malta Pioneer Corps, back in 1973. Later on in his life, Godwin embarked on a journey as a teacher, at the Umberto Calosso trade school; his re-enactment passion continued to grow when he joined Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, performing Victorian era re-enactment. Some time on in 2006, Godwin forwarded the idea to Mr. Colin Micallef to create a World War 2 re-enactment group….and so they did and the rest is history.
In a nutshell Godwin has always been described by many as a: gentleman, historian and a great friend!!

Rest in Peace – Lest we Forget.
